Hello all! Dejavu from California, USA here (Jay Cassady).

Just a little info about myself, I am married to my beutiful wife Joliana, and have a lovely little daughter Joliesse, also a step-son, (pretty much my son, hate that word STEP) who is 29, from my 1st marrige.

I was always into music from a very young age thanks to my mum. The first I remember listening too and going crazy listening to it was Ike & Tina Turners Working together LP.
Grew up listening to Johnny Mathis, Neil Sedaka, Diana Ross, Tom Jones, and especailly and often, the Stylistics among others. No matter what happened to me as a little boy, whether it be bumping myself on the head or just getting a spankin, the music always made me feel better.

The first LP I bought was Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, and used to bring it to elementry school and have the yard duty play it at recess. As 1980 came around I was into Rick James, Skyy, Cameo, among other great groups. Then the early 80's hit and was very much into the early years of hip-hop and electro, thats when I bought my turntables and mixer and from that point on music was my main thing. I used to DJ hall parties and house parties, never for money, always for fun. Just loved making people move with the sound of music.

When 1988 rolled around I wanted a DJ name so I chose DJ Dejavu, because in my opinion by 1987 the funk kida dissapeared and I wasn't ready for it to go away, so I thought why not give people dejavu not in the visual way, but in the audio way. I hope what you hear from me will make YOU move and take you back with that dejavu feeling.
