Mark's Profile
Born in 1958 in Reading where I still live, I grew up wanting to be a professional footballer, I represented the town and county to a very high level and also had trials at Chelsea and Southampton, also represented an English team playing against the USA. I then discovered girls, fags, booze and Ford Capri's and that with a nasty broken leg put pay to my career, now what ?

I bumbled around doing odds and sods when I was offered a job in engineering and I thought I might get a trade in it, I then went to work for the Government on Polaris missiles at AWRE Aldermaston. Career was going ok'ish untill one guy in the stores was selling his disco equipment complete with trailer and I thought I will give it a go I mean how hard is it to put records on, so I had a tow bar fitted to the Capri and I was off DJ'ing. I was mobile for a couple of years and had the chance to cover a spot at our local night club Rebeccas in Reading town centre after the DJ had been sacked. I started doing Thursday nights every week untill the main Jock Dave Rawlings left and they offered me the weekend slot. Since then I have done Radio mobile and clubs for years eventually leading to me going to Corfu in 1986 to do the summer at the Adonis Night Club in Gouvia Corfu. That gig changed my life as I met my now wife Jackie there. We are now married with two children Mitchell 16 and Georgia 13, proof that holiday romances do work.

In 2003 I retired from DJ'ing to start my own Stretched Limousine Company this was a great move Limos were becoming very popular and within 6 months we were importing cars from America and selling too. Unfortunately in 2006 I had a very serious illness in the way of a perforated colon and was touch and go wether I would survive but I did and decided not to work so hard again as I feel this was to blame for my illness.

Up untill 2 months ago I was plodding in a driving job and then discovered Morpher radio and my spark was ignited again, I have always loved my music mainly jazz funk disco genre although I have had my share of playing Agadoo and Hey Baby oooh aarrgghh I thought having DJ'ed with the likes of Robbie Vincent, Shaun French, Jim the Syrup and the legend that is Pete Sinclair I thought it was time to come out of retirement and try and join what I fell is a great station with great guys and gals and so here I am.
