Petes Profile
Although I now live in Perth, Western Australia, I am originally a Romford boy, having been born and bred there. Nearly all of my family still lives back in the UK today.

Whilst I enjoyed a range of different musical styles in my teens, I started listening to music on the R&B/Soul scene when I began my “clubbing years” back in 1978. I became a regular at clubs like Zero 6, Flicks, Stage 3, The Regency Suite and of course the famous Goldmine on Canvey Island.

It was at clubs like the Goldmine that I really became hooked on the Jazz Funk scene and in particular the harder fringe stuff. My biggest influences come from listening to DJ’s like Pete Tong, Jeff Young, Robbie Vincent, Giles Peterson, Chris Hill and a number of other DJ’s that appeared on stations like Horizon and JFM.

Having a love of traveling this wonderful world that we all live in, I came out to Australia in 1985 whilst back-packing and liked what I saw. I came back a few years after and ended up staying. Regrettably the same great club-music scene that I knew in the UK was not replicated in Perth at that time but after a few years things improved the music became more available here and I was always able to stay in touch with what was happening.

Fast-forward many years to 2008 and then whilst trawling through Youtube, I began to discover some wonderful music, which led me to the Vinyl Morpher website. Once again I was hooked and it was though the years disappeared and I was 20 again and back in the clubs in the UK. Now I have been inspired to trawl through my vinyl collection much of which I still have (and has just been gathering dust in the attic). Dave the Vinyl Morpher has kindly let me have a go at putting some shows together.

My shows are put together simply from my music collection and the PC software technology that is ready to hand. Having never DJ’d formerly before, it’s a great thrill for me to try my hand at this and to be able to share this with other like minded lovers of this music genre.
