Gold
If you went to clubs and bars in the seventies, eighties and nineties in Southern Hampshire the chances are you’ll have heard one, or both of us play at many of the top venues across the region.

We’ve also had extensive experience of working to international audiences in such places as Jersey, Marbella, Mallorca and London’s West End.
Now we are back, playing a great mix of music from the golden age of disco, right up to date. For more information about seeing us play live please visit our website at www.thepartydj.co.uk where you'll find links to our Gold blog and facebook group.

Paul's profile
I’m 52 now and counting my blessings - family, friends and music. I’ve been fortunate to be involved in the music industry in the past, working as rep for several companies, running my own record shop and, since I was about 15, as a DJ. I love music of most kinds and have seen hundreds of live shows from artists as diverse as Deadmau5 and Hawkwind. Soul, disco and dance music are a passion, and working with Steve on our new project has re-ignited my desire to go deeper into the crates to find old gems and new jewels to share. I’m really excited to be joining the Morpher team and look forward to making many new friends who share the passion. Never forget, life sounds better to music!

Steve's Profile
Hi everybody. Like Paul, I'm very happy to be presenting shows on Morpher radio and looking forward to making new friends and acquaintances. It's something we've wanted to do, since we both decided to move forward with Gold. Many, many thanks to Dave and the Morpher team for giving us a slot, in which we hope to entertain and inform our listeners.

My background is similar to Paul's, in that, I too had quite a few years as a club DJ, followed by a spell when family commitments took over, although I was still involved with music in a different way as a sound recording engineer and duplication facility to local bands and businesses. During my initial DJ career I managed to notch up well over 2000 nights as a club DJ, got into segueing (1975) and mixing (1978/9) very early on and later produced a few megamixes for DMC. Now I'm back as a DJ once again.

Throughout my 15 years as a pro club DJ, the one greatest influence on me had to be the late James Hamilton of Record Mirror; he was the one guy who kept thousands of DJs, such as Paul and myself in touch with what was happening 'up in the smoke'. Without him, I don't think the UK disco/dance scene would have been what it turned out to be, because the 'Soul mafia' wouldn't have had a vehicle to spread their gospel quite so effectively (you couldn't hear Capital radio or any of the other legit or pirate stations very far outside of London and places like the 'Lacy Lady' would have been far too far away for a night out). He certainly influenced the buying decisions of many thousands of DJs with his brilliantly descriptive reviews of the latest and greatest dance tracks.
